Step back in time to the forbidden Himalayan kingdom of Lo, trekking through wind-carved red canyon ravines and 14th-century Buddhist gompas shielded from monsoon rains.
The Upper Mustang Trek journeys into the ancient Kingdom of Lo, a mystical, arid Tibetan plateau sheltered behind the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain massifs. Because it lies in a rain-shadow, it is the premier trek in Nepal during the summer monsoon months (June to September). You will explore the walled capital of Lo Manthang, visit thousand-year-old rock-hewn Sky Caves, and immerse yourself in unchanged Tibetan customs and monastic traditions.
