Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park protects the primary drinking water watershed for the Kathmandu Valley. Starting from the Buddhist nunnery at Nagi Gompa, this scenic day hike climbs through dense oak, pine, and rhododendron forests alive with over 300 bird species and wild deer. Reach Bagdwar, the sacred spring origin of the Bagmati River, before summiting Shivapuri Peak (2,732m) for sweeping views of the Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Jugal ranges.
A full-day guided nature hike with private vehicle transfers from Thamel to Budhanilkantha/Muhan Pokhari, professional naturalist guide, park permits, and packed lunch.

7:30 AM hotel pickup in Kathmandu. Drive to Budhanilkantha (Muhan Pokhari gate). Begin hike climbing through pine forest to Nagi Gompa nunnery. Continue along stone steps through dense oak forest to Bagdwar (2,525m). Push to the summit of Shivapuri Peak (2,732m) for lunch and mountain views. Descend back to the park gate by 3:30 PM and drive back to hotel.

We manage and include all National Park, Conservation Area (ACAP/Sagarmatha), TIMS, and Restricted Area Permits on your behalf. Simply provide copies of your passport and 2 passport photos upon arrival in Kathmandu.
