Mohare Danda is an inspiring eco-trekking route developed by local villages in the Myagdi district. It provides an uncrowded alternative to Poon Hill, featuring panoramic sunrise views from Mohare Danda (3,320m) directly across at Dhaulagiri I (8,167m), Annapurna South, Nilgiri, and Machhapuchhre. Trekkers stay at locally run community lodges that directly fund village healthcare, organic farming, and wireless communication networks.
Our 7-day itinerary begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Galeshwor, following stone paths through orange orchards, oak forests, and terraced farms through Bans Kharka, Nangi, and Mohare Danda.
Detailed daily trekking distances, walking hours & stays
Drive from Pokhara to Galeshwor temple on the Kali Gandaki. Cross the suspension bridge and climb through orange groves to Bans Kharka.
