The Makalu Base Camp Trek is one of the wildest and most remote high-altitude journeys in the Nepal Himalayas. Located inside Makalu Barun National Park, the trail leads from subtropical lowlands through sheer granite cliffs, hanging glaciers, and virgin alpine cloud forests into the upper Barun Valley. Standing at Makalu Base Camp (4,870m), you are confronted by the colossal south face of Mount Makalu (8,485m), alongside rare views of the eastern Kangshung Face of Mount Everest and Lhotse.
An 18-day wilderness trek supported by internal domestic flights to Tumlingtar, certified mountain guides, porters, national park permits, and rustic teahouses.
