The Lower Mustang Trek offers the magical trans-Himalayan desert landscapes and Tibetan Buddhist culture of Mustang without the expensive $500 restricted permit. Starting from Jomsom, you hike along the windy Kali Gandaki gorge to the mud-walled gateway of Kagbeni, climb to the revered 108-spout shrine of Muktinath, explore hidden Bon monasteries in Lubra, and wander the cobblestone apple-orchard lanes of Marpha.
An 8-day scenic cultural trek combining scheduled flights between Pokhara and Jomsom, comfortable lodges, and standard ACAP permits.
