A classic alpine valley trek just north of Kathmandu, exploring rebuilt Tamang heritage villages, climbing Kyanjin Ri (4,773m), and tasting artisan yak cheese.
The Langtang Valley Trek, often called the 'Valley of Glaciers', is one of Nepal's most picturesque journeys located directly north of Kathmandu near the Tibetan border. The trail follows the roaring Langtang Khola river through lush bamboo forests before opening up into a glacial alpine valley flanked by Langtang Lirung (7,227m). In the high settlement of Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m), you will explore the historic monastery, sample fresh yak cheese, and climb Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri for breathtaking views of glacial amphitheaters.
