Gokyo Cho la Pass trek is one of the outstanding treks of Everest region which is quite adventurous and need physically fit to complete this trek. This trek offers an alternative to the traditional trek to Everest Base Camp. We pass through the Sherpa villages- Namche Bazaar and Khumjung to the Gokyo Valley and the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest in Nepal Himalaya. From Gokyo Ri, one can have a glance of the peaks above 8000m such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. Descending to Phortse, make a high traverse to the village of Pangboche and climb on towards Everest Base Camp. The return route leads through Dingboche and Tengpoche before descending the Khumbu Valley to Lukla. There are many options for additional exploration and high altitude walking including the crossing of Cho La 5420m high Pass into Khumbu. Gokyo is located in the valley immediately west of the Everest (Khumbu) valley and is far less developed and crowed than its better-known neighbor to the east. In fact, the Gokyo Valley is the only traditional permanent settlement of this area..

Everest Gokyo chola pass trekking Itinerary (Everest Gokyo chola pass trek)

Day 01:Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel

Day 02 : Sight-seeing of Kathmandu: Full day’s sightseeing in Kathmandu valley includes the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. Also visit Monkey Temple the Swyambhunath (2000 years old temple) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Return to the hotel.

Day 03 : Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m.) it takes about 30 minutes. Trek from Lukla to Phakding (2640 m.)

Day 04 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Day 05 : Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

Day 06 : Trek from Namche to Thame Village (3800m).

Day 07 : Trek from Thame to Khumjung (3850m)

Day 08 : Trek from Khumjung to Dhole (4040m)

Day 09 : Trek from Dhole to Machhermo ( 4410-)

Day 10 : Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo ( 5350m)
